2 c water
1/4 tsp nutmeg

2 c flour
2 tsp B. Pow
3/4 c shortening
1/2 c milk
Mix.

Glass pan- pour syrup over
1 hour  350

Lindsey's Note:: There was quite a bit missing from this recipe card.  It called for 3/4 c spry in the pastry- which, from my research is a type of shortening used from 1936 to the mid 70's.  Grandma also didn't specify what type or how many apples are included in these dumplings.  Other recipes I found online with similar ingredients call for 4-6 Granny Smith apples with sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg sprinkled on top and dotted with butter.
